The Deaconess Ministry sponsored their 5th Annual Angel Tree Christmas Party for 61 Foster Children and children in Treatment families. In collaboration with Orangeburg County Department of Social Services these children (ranging in ages 12 weeks to 15years) were presented gifts based on their “wish list” to include more than 20 bicycles, tablets, clothing, shoes, toys and gift cards.
The children and their foster parents, caseworkers and guardians enjoyed a morning filled with sing a long, entertainment provided by the church youth, fellowship, and refreshments, as they awaited the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus.
The gifts were all provided by church members and their friends. It is an occasion that the church looks forward to each year said Brenda Jamerson, Coordinator of the event. The sheer joy of seeing the faces of the children as their names were called by Mrs. Claus to receive their gifts was truly a delight. Presentation of the bikes is always the highlight as they were presented last; the kids were overjoyed. Giving is always a delight; sharing God’s Blessings.
